A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Got this one a couple weeks ago on my trip through PA. Morning Meditation and reflection at Gettysburg battlefield. Located at the Vermont memorial before sunrise.

OK...Not sure if this will work.
Happy Friday. We don't have a multi quote button in this new forum (yet?)
So let's hope I have all the photos. This is my third attempt.
Looks like you can keep hitting the "Reply" button on each post to add the pics in succession for the summary on Friday. Gets a little tricky if they spill over to another page. Need to use the "Save Draft" feature before changing pages.

Yup...That's basically what I did Friday.
But I belong to other XenForo forums, and they do have a multi-quote option.

How about "Silhouettes and Shadows".
. . . . .

Silhouette AND Shadows (and some golden-hour color).

Shadow 500 that have had since 2005.

No, am not on beach sand. Am on sidewalk next to the road along the beach, and is sand on the road so don't see the curb.
(just so someone doesn't think is AI generated.) (I would not know how anyway.)

>>later note:
Ha, shadow of Honda Shadow, Ha!

Oh, Is a SlipStream fairing, not a Silhouette fairing.

Dave, the other forums I belong to using XenForo have multi quote. Probably just something Frank needs to turn on.
.......
.......
Re: multiquote
A previuous discussion I had with Frank some time ago (about quoting, and copying the URL of a posting, and URL of posted photo) he made mention of haveing to change things at that time, so that things (the URL as an example) did not reveal the organization/structure of the forum's data storage to hackers. And something about quoting providing some entry for hackers. . . . . .

>>later note: oh, I just now was able to revise (deleted some) of what was quoted.

Anyway, aside from the specifics, I got the idea that most of what Frank deals with is related to fending off hackers.

Sorry, not going to attempt the recap. I can't see my pic here on my work PC. but I can on my phone. I know that's an issue with my employer blocking Imgur.
I can't see Roger's pic on my phone, but I can on my work PC. Same for some others. Hopefully Bob or another can make some sense of it.

OK kids....I've been fighting this for a bit. But here we go.

The theme of the week by dpep:
How about "Silhouettes and Shadows".

You’ve all seen this one before. @gustovh - I haven't figured out how to get your attachment to show, sorry. Everyone go back and look.
View attachment 1786868 Hopefully yours will show, @Grimly

OK...Some really good photos this week. Thanks everyone!

That should be all of them except for gustovh, and maybe Grimly.
Please take the time to go back and look at their photos.
Hopefully we will figure this out soon.

Let us know if anything else is amiss. Don't forget to vote.

For those interested. Working over two pages is pretty tricky with this forum.
Took me about 90 minutes to get most of the photos up. Sorry @gustovh.

Usually I open two windows, make two threads using multi-quote, copy and past the second onto the first.
Doesn't work with this forum. Tried to add all at once, and one at a time.

But, if you click the [ ] button in the upper right, it changes the post into BB code.
Then you copy the BB code to the other thread, and re-toggle the BB code.
It worked, sort of. It didn't like gustovh's attachment.

The XenForo multi option would be huge help here. @administrator

I have enabled the multi-quote option. Baatfam, you have done exactly what you needed to do in order to bring this to my attention. So a note to everyone, just include my forum name in your message and I'll be notified about it. If Baatfam hadn't done this then I would have never known this was an issue. So thanks for doing that!

FYI, here's a bit of info on how multi-quote works in XenForo

The XenForo multi-quote option is a feature that allows users to select and quote multiple posts from a thread within a single reply. In XenForo 1.x and 2.x, this is primarily achieved by clicking the "Reply" button on each post you wish to quote; these quotes are accumulated in the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page, rather than jumping to a new reply window for each post.

Key details include:

  • Activation: The feature is often disabled by default in XenForo 2.0+ and must be enabled by the administrator in the Admin Control Panel (ACP) under post reply options. (This is now enabled)
  • Functionality: When enabled, clicking "Reply" on multiple posts adds them to a queue in the Quick Reply area. Users can then edit the combined quotes before posting.
  • Limitations: The native multi-quote feature typically only works for posts on the same page; it does not automatically carry quotes across different thread pages during navigation.

Almost voted dgates1 just cause his pic was so plain, visible, legible, & easy to comprehend ... But I always had a soft spot for see'in spokes where they ain't supposed to be so got to vote for Steve Murdoch this week.
