I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I'm in the process of cleaning carbs and installing Orings 1st carb went great. Took the #2 carb apart and someone has been in it before the pilot jet is messed up real bad I'm soaking it right now hoping this loosens it up enough I can somehow remove but if I can't whats next drill it leave it alone I really don't want to do that I would like to do it right Help!

I am having the same problem doing the carbs on my 650G. Even with letting them soak for over 3 hours they do not want to come out. I ground down a good screwdriver for a very tight fit and the ears still want to round off. I have had to drill and use an easy out on both of them. I bought the easy out and drill at Sears for approx $6 total. I used a drill press to make sure I drilled straight and they came out pretty easy with the extractor. I have rebuild kits for all the carbs and was hoping I did not need them. I have only used the pilot jets out of them so far. I believe it is best to remove and replace them if possible.

Sears sells metric extractors the kit is $29.99 and the sizes are 3mm and up.

Extract them then order new ones, its the only way.

Hope this helps

i had the same issue when i re did my carbs a few weeks ago.someone was in them and the slot on the top was completely gone on mine. go grab a small easy out and it will come right out.

This is actually one of the few jobs I recommend the easy out. I use it all the time on pilot jets. They come out suprisingly easy. No pun intended.
What size pilot jets do you have? I might have a few. I'll just stuff them in an envelope and off they go!

The one I have out is a size 40 looks like it says something in front of the 40 but can't make it out when this screw gets installed run it all the way in?

...when this screw gets installed run it all the way in?

Screw it in till snug.
Yup. Can't tell which carbs you have (putting your bike info in your sig line really helps, hint, hint), but with the older VM carbs, everything gets snugged up except the fuel screw (on the bottom) and the air screw (on the side). On the newer BS (CV) carbs, the only thing that is not snugged up is the idle mixture adjustment screw on top of the carb outlet.

If these are the pilot jets order new ones in the same size if they are damaged. If the bike was running fine before you can test these jets with plug chops once the carbs are back in to see if this size is good. Then figure out wether to go up or down one size.

On pilot jets the numbers are on the side.

Mains the number is on the top.

The pilot jets are out. Drilled them out and used a easyout they came out very easy. Now just need new ones I am ready to get back on the road missing some good weather
