    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anybody know where I can get new ones or know what I can put in the hole after I am done setting up the carbs?
 
Why bother putting anything in there? :-k

While silicone works to cover the hole, it really makes things nasty if you ever have to make an adjustment to the screw or remove it.

Some "rebuild" kits have the caps included, I have always pitched them in the trash.

I too, wonder if anything should be there to "protect" the screw threads, because road grime, bugs, saltwater from the roads etc will certainly find it's way there. but SILICONE to me = bad ugliness after uniting with the zinc/aluminum of the carb body.
I've actually considered small rubber plugs of some sort..???
 
Never gave it much thought, but the screws do seem to get stuck on neglected bikes, maybe with the help of the aforementioned road grime.... I put a dot of anti sieze on the threads on mine before reinstalling after hearing a lot of horror stories of stuck screws. Maybe a rubber plug is a good idea.
 
Wonder if pencil erasers would fit snug enough ???...easy to remove them too. Just a small nail and some super glue. Dab of glue..stick to eraser..pull out.
 
The only possible reason I can think of for replacing these caps or plugging the hole in any way is if you have some sort of super-zealous emissions inspection to get through.
 
I think it is beneficial to put something in here to keep the grime out. Considering putting metalic tape over the hole.
 
I tried fitting "HONDA" pilot jet rubber plugs and they are too small. so the "SUZUKI" ones should be an exact fit. I remember trying the Honda ones in my carb pilots and the same result.. too small.
I probably won't have the bike much longer, and think they should be protected from the elements here in PA, but the replaceable stock ones are too much bother.
