    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

pin hole in carb diaphram

2 inside carbs have 1 pin hole in each one! (sucks) so you guys think crazy glue will work for a while?? one drop ,it dries light so i dont think it will effect the weight or movements any


also batery dry again, found a 15 amp fuse in signals! i didnt do ,:eek:,im not happy about it , so you guys think this is enough to dry the batt cells??
crazy thing is it still starts and runs dry!
need a million bucks so i can do what i want to to this bike , i want a new bike but i like this on as well

o btw is the 83 gs750 ed model
 
Super Glue won't last very long.
Rubber cement won't last very long.
Silicone won't last very long.
Nothing else will last very long.

And it's not so much the weight, it's the need to remain flexible. Not sure what type of rubber the diaphragms are made of, but there is not much that will stick to them and remain flexible. The diaphragms flex every time you move the throttle, so basically, they are flexing constantly. The only way to fix holey diaphragms is to replace them.

Not sure why a fuse in the signals would cause the battery to go dry. The only thing that makes a battery go dry is overcharging, and that is more likely caused by a faulty r/r rectifier/regulator) or some bad connections. Have you read and followed all the tests in The Stator Papers? Lots of good information there, and it will tell you rather quickly where your problem is. If you find that you need a new r/r, contact member Duaneage. He provides Honda units that have been tested before he lets them go. Why Honda? Because they seem to be more robust and last longer.

You have to scroll down the left column to the Title "Repairs everybody should know" . It will switch pages and you can scroll down to the desired one.


The idea as presented sounds good to me. He says it has been done on other bikes, plus it worked well more than one year on his own bike, which is a substantial amount of time.....and when checked he found the repair was still sound.
 
Plasti Dip is the name of the rubber coating for tool handles. Whether it works or not I dont have a clue. What it does do is tighten up the center fuel T that has no o-rings on the 34mm Cv carbs on GS1100's. Its $11.99 at a hardware store and $7.99 at Harbor Freight, same stuff, made in USA, a can about the size of a beer can. Personally Id get new ones or at least some good used ones before trying a repair.

I think I will fix a bad one and put it in a bike to see how it holds up.

how much would you want for them??

i did the super glue, worked good, they need synced badly though they were messed with b4 i got it, now its running out of fuel, something to do with the fuel line,or pet cock,and the pet cock diaphram is working
so i will look into it tomorow sometime

the fuse i mentioned -
well you charge batts 12 volt , 6 or 10 amp, max to keep from burning them up, why wouldnt it blow fuses?? i have a 10 amp in it now
it had a 15 amp fuse in it:eek: i dunno how either:confused: i didnt do it
but the ignighter wires were melted when i got the bike,(already spliced as well) so i fixed those, with motorcycle wire so it would carry the same amont of amps/vots/current through them
i was wondering if the guy got a wire crossed or something, i put it the way it was it run been riding for a few months
anyway--the turn signal (fuse out ) there is no power!!, no light no turn over nothing, it is as if it were the main fuse, so i am curious about that as well:confused:
