Hello, Need help with a problem on my GK. I had started to notice awhile back that Suzi started pinging when carrying a passenger, and at about 2/3 throttle. I tried the usual, higher octane gas, octane boosters, etc. Still same. I noticed the intake boots were starting to crack alittle, so$87 later, I had 4 boots, 4 clamps, 4 o-rings, and went to work on it. the old rings were trashed, and while I had the carbs out, I went throught them with a good cleaning. they were amazingly clean, with very little sediment in the bowls, and shiny brass on the jets. i looked at the main, and it is a 115 Close-tolerance jet. I put the stuff back together and performance and general running were much improved. however, the pinging is still there. This pinging worries me, because it never used to do this at all, and seems pretty loud to me. Suzi is all stock, including exhaust, and is not run hard or anything, just have alot of rolling hills here in central Arkansas, and only hear pinging (on flat or hill) when about 2/3 throtle. any suggestions on waht this may be? and why all of the sudden showed up? Valve adjustment? Sync? Jet too small? Any help would be greatly appreciated. plug colour is grey. floats are good, and petcock was replaced last year so no clogs there. ???????????
