DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Got the swingarm installed today. Here it is with the 1100 chainguard:

and the other side:

The chain adjusters look weak up against the swingarm... I think I'll have them chromed, just for 8track. :-D

The bike is filthy. I'm going to scrub her down, especially the front of the motor, and get the pipes on. Then a complete wash and detail, and she's ready for the season! Just in time, too. It's finally getting nice around here!\\:D/

Yeah, she's a real pig, completely filthy. :)

That bike is cleaner than my tools on their best day. I like the look of the aluminum peaking out below the chain guard. Ever think about running with no guard?

No guard? No, I never thought of that. Do you think it would look good that way?

Do they make chrome chains?

I envy your work Bruce!!! Very nice. I love the polished look; I just don't love having to do it every two weeks because of the salt air. Be thankful for your climate! ;)

Bruce man i gotta say that it looks AMAZING! I have the same swinger on my cafe project, but i dont have the patience, nor the want to polish it and keep it that way. Much respect for having such. ( i just painted mine aluminum silver again:oops:)

oh dear god. it's like splatter painting the mona lisa with crap. what happened?!?

Well its simple. You can only polish for so long, till you run out of stuff to polish, so he HAD to take it out and get it dirty so he could polish it again :-D

For real though Bruce, WTF?? Looks like you went MotoX with the skunk??

Guys, I hate to inform you, but doing your own polishing can cause all kinds of health problems. Have it done by a professional only!

ahem.....ahem

Ok, ok..........I'm kidding. (I own Escobar Polishing Co.)

I'm truly staggered at the lengths ya'll go through to make your scooters look great. I can't imagine doing all that polishing BY HAND, kudos boys. It makes me really proud to be part of this forum.

On a serious note though, please wear a mask when polishing aluminum. It is a proven fact that aluminum oxide is a direct link to the cause of alzheimer's disease.

I'm putting a 'Polishing Tips" section on my site soon, it'll have all the steps you'll need to go through, equipment, and material sources as well.

Not that some of you boys need it............

Soon to be polished: Forks, calipers, fins, triple tree head bracket, front m/c.

Powder coat the frame, and guages above the pipes.

This is from last weekend on the Gold Country ride with Tom MLC. We got caught in a torrential downpour up in the mountains on Hwy 49. Its was coming down so hard that mud streams were crossing the road. 100 miles of wet, dirty road heading back to my place. :(

Now THAT looks like a GS. Good on ya Bruce! I was afraid you were one of those driveway bikers. ;)

Nope, I'm not a parking lot biker, but I do try to avoid the rain for just this reason. No worries... she'll clean up just fine. :)
