    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Actually the springs don't fit the shocks! They are for a different series so not so great, I'll flip them on Ebay.

I just found out the shocks recommended for my G are the 1202B not these 1207B which are really for the KZ1000, Z1 among others.

The only difference is an extra 1/2" length in the shock as far as I can see... They both use the same rate springs.

Anyone see that causing me any problems... I guess it will affect standover. I'm thinking of getting the right springs then "suck it & see"....

Bummer just found out from z1 Enterprises that the travel is shorter than the recommended ones.... 2.8" instead of 3.8".

Looks like it's another one to be flipped unless anyone can make use of them...

What length Dan? Im still in the market for shocks. Oh wait, yours are eye to eye...damnit
 
Progressive Suspension Rear Shocks - 12 Series 13.5" - 12-1207B

shock body only, no springs

One pair of black gas-charged rear shocks - 13" free length, 9.2" compressed length, 3.8" travel & 5 position pre-load adjustment. Eye mount on both TOP and BOTTOM.
Buy springs separately (see below).

On Z1 enterprise site it says both are 3.8" travel.... Have emailed Progressive for a firm answer.
 
Great deal, to bad doesn't work. Have you tried mounting shocks, any conflicts with swingarm or frame? I doubt slightly longer length would not make too much difference, maybe easier to get on centerstand.

Check around for springs, I bought a set off ebay for about $40. I would go with heavy duty if you find that the stock shocks bottom out with your present riding situation. (Did not know how to politically ask about your loading condition!8-[) I found that the progressive suspension is initially more plush but stiffens quickly, thus bottoms rarely and still keeps rear planted in curves. A call to Progressive might save some frustration on setting up shocks for your bike. Good luck.
 
Have emailed them to confirm travel. Thanks for feedback. Might take off one of mine & measure it if I have time. I'm 165lb, they recommend the 95/140 springs. $72 new though :(

Will keep my eye on Ebay. This shocks will go back on there if they won't fit.

My stockers are adjustable for preload & damping & aside from having them jacked up a bit higher than recommended (to allow for some age related softening....) they are ok. Sure the progressives would be nicer though.

I have short legs so could do without the extra length....

Buy the right springs and put them on. It will work fine. With your large trunks buy HD. Keep them soft until you but the trunks on and adjust a little stiffer.
