As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I'm ordering new springs to rebuild my forks and what I'm wondering is which is the better quality set?
The price difference between the two is only $15 with shipping, so I am unsure which to go with.
The Sonics have a rating I would like (1.1kg) out of the three they have available, as I am a heavy rider.
The Progressives seem to only have one type available to me.
Also, the site says the Progressives are a 'kit' and the Sonic site says it's just the springs.
Is there more to the Progressive kit than just springs?

Also, on both sites after selecting year (1982) and make (obviously Suzuki:p) it only gives me the choice of either L or E, but not T.
So I'm not sure which model I should choose to get the right set.

What are your experiences with these brands of springs?

how do you ride? flat interstate or twisty roads, sonic works great if you like to ride the twisty roads.

Tank,

I have used both, IMO the Sonics for the money are a better deal. Most importantly you can actually contact the owner and speak with him directly about your application. Not to mention the Sonics are cheaper and perform better, hope this helps...

Well, mostly very flat rural highways, although with many patches and bumps. I like twisties, but there isn't a lot of em.

Yes, Sonic are better for the bigger guys as you can actually get a higher rate spring. Progressive are one size fits all & you add preload.

Once all the close wound springs are bottomed out the progressive becomes a straight weight 1.0

:)

Agreed -- I seem to remember you're on the Large side, so Sonics are the way to go.

Well 5-0 for Sonics, looks like I know what I'm going to get!

Thanks again everybody!

Looks like the polls are closed, but I'll add a vote for the Sonics. Rich was very fast at replying to emails and answering questions. The springs were shipped the same day I ordered them and they took less than a week to make the trip to Toronto. They are sitting on the shelf in the garage and will be installed when I take the front wheel off for a new tire.
