A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So here it is all mocked up, surprisingly it was a fairly straight forward swap. The only real modification needed is to have the front wheel spacer cut down to size. The front fender will require some center spacing as well but nothing to difficult. Here is the build list..

1150 complete triple clamp ( 700 clocks are direct bolt on )
1150 front axle and speedo drive
1150 steering head cover
1150 2.75" front wheel ( swap from the 2.15" on the 700 )
700 joint air valve ( its tight but it will work )
700 front forks and calipers
700 stock rotors

With the exception of the recession of the key ignition ring the stock look is maintained. The only way to fix that would be to swap out an 1150 lock kit which I may do.

With the suspension improvements and the 1150 wheel swap it should give it a much wider taller stance vs. the previous squatty skinny look. :)

Looking good.....

I like the pods...one day I am going to have to try that setup......

if they were only cheaper......

Cheers

I hear ya....but I got a pipe and stock air box and it's a PITA to get right as well...LOL

one day I will have to try....

it was suggested to me to just take the air filter out, and test.....see if it improves...

anyways back to your rebuild....

coming along nicely.....

.

Hard to see the spacing but I have the outer axle hat sleeve in backwards so I could piece things together. Allows for a 120 up front...

Hope to have the spacer cut and fitted this week. As soon as that is done I have a pile for the powder coater. Anxious to get it back on the road.

The inner right bearing spacer from the 1150 will need to be reduced 8.5mm to line up the front wheel..I think, still doing some measuring....

Very nice.....

You are putting my Yamaha resto to shame....I unfortunately have had no time to do anything that is bike related, too many projects around the house at the moment, but I am almost done, then it's back to the bike....

Keep up the good work....

Fork rebuild complete with Race Tech Gold Valve emulators, sonic springs, anti-dive block offs and front wheel spacing aligned for the 1150 triple.
