All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Looks Sweet Joe!

Excellent choice, the shorties on the rear keeps the stock look, and agreed, flush mounts just don't look right for some reason on these bikes. :)

jwhelen65- Georgous bike! Wish I would found some turn signals like that before I bought mine. Love the seat too! Something Ill be needing to check into myself.

Thanks Eric,

I may try and find a set for the front as well even though they are not quite as noticeable.

Decided to make use of the space gained when I removed the airbox. It allows for a deeper compartment than the stock.

Hey, Joe! Just got pointed over in this direction by <a href="http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=144220&highlight=GS700EF">Eric</a>.

As I hear it, you're in N. Dallas? Me too! Eric suggested that we meet up and show each other our GS700E's! I got me a 1985 GS700ESF recently. She needs work, and I've barely just started. I'll be looking to both of you and your posts for inspiration and instruction!

Anyway, if you'd like to meet up sometime for a ride or to shoot the breeze, feel free to send me a PM and I'll shoot you my number!

One of my favorite bikes on this site!! I really like the carbs. :D ;)

Hey Joe, I forgot...what did you do for the black on this pipe? Is it holding up well?

Thanks Bruce,

This pipe is actually the original coating from Vance and Hines, it sat for many years in a box but it was basically a NOS part. It is starting to peel around the exhaust ports as expected, it will need ceramic coating to refurb it at some point

looks awesome, had 1 in 85 totalled it when a cager turned left in front of me.

I LOVE that bike! i would keep that in my living room on a stand! If I get around to building my new place, the living room is basically going to be a showroom lounge type setup.

Hi Mr. jwhelan65,

I just wanted to congratulate you on an excellent project. The bike looks great. I guess Santa didn't bring you a rear shock? I'm sure you are going to enjoy that bike immensely. Well done. :)

Happy New Year!

Thank you for your indulgence,

Hey Joe,
Your bike is amazing.

One small tip, not that you seem to need much help mind you, but if you take off the ignition cover, lay it flat, and pour some black paint into the SUZUKI lettering it really sets off the cover. Don't worry about spilling, just wipe off the excess paint with some thinner.

Good luck and enjoy!:)

Thanks Ed, I will give it a try, been meaning to fill that in for quite some time kind of the last little detail to do. Had it out today for a little spin...still my favorite bike in the garage to ride hands down. :)
