Joe, who do i get in contact with that did the painting for the body work? As you may know i have the 1100ES, and Rep Decals doesnt have a set for it. my bike is nearly good on the body work, but I plan to ship it off to them to have new decals made, and then off to someone to paint, dunno who yet, but I might look into who you used. My paint is a bit more intricate than yours, as the blue is actually paint instead of decals, but I planned on spending about 1500ish to get it done nicely, so 900 or so sounds GREAT...lol Also, who do i need to contact at Rep Decals to set up shipping them my parts? The projects, BOTH of them are looking KILLER, keep up the great work. You and Ed and Pos have had my favorite bikes as far as attention to detail when bringing these old girls back up. I plan on getting my ES to that quality this winter...

Hey Josh,

Thanks for the compliments, still have along way to go on both. You need to talk to Ellen at Reproduction decals, very friendly and helpful. She hooked me up with a place not far from them who does alot of motorcycle painting. His name is Brad the owner of BK Custom Coating. 519-759-5656. I figured I had to pay shipping to and from Canada either way so Ellen gave me the referral. I should actually have the bodyparts back this week im hoping. I think my total ended up being closer to $1200 with all the decals that had to be removed , which I m sure was a PITA!
Anyway hope this helps!

Joe

Pulled the carb intakes off today to replace the o-rings, 3 of 4 were broke or torn...Good call Ed, again!

Thought about replacing the cylinder oil lines, but decided to just clean them up along with all the rusty hardware.

Before..

Got the carbs mounted, swaped out all the rusty hardware. Should have the bodyparts next week.

Looking good, that motor and carbs look fantastic.

I like that v&h pipe, you heard it run yet?

The valve cover was beyond polish, so Charlie at Escobar Polishing blasted it for paint. Applied some Dupil-Color engine enamel. Turned out pretty good, probably wont show much under the fairing.

Would that be Dupli-Color? DE 1615 Aluminum ?

I was thinking about trying it on my engine.

Little bit of a bump..here's whats left..

Rear brake caliper needs re-building
Bleed the brakes
New Battery
Install the chain and guard
Install the exhaust gaskets and pipe
Replace the petcock and install the fuel SU
Bodyparts...Soon...Soon!!

Wow...thats looks great without the body parts, cant wait to see the final product...awesome man...good job!

Thanks Cromwell...

Heres another engine close up. The throttle grip seems a little slow to release, anyone know if this normal after re-doing the carbs? Replaced the clutch cable while I had it all apart.

Sweet..... Wicked !!!

Sweet..... Wicked !!!

I have been enjoying the thought that these bikes are worth the effort in putting time and effort into bringing them back to even the new Crotch Rockets look and give you the thumbs up !!!! I have always loved the look of this year and era.

I noticed you havent painted in your Stator cover.

A fast drying Black perm paint pen and 2-3 passes and a quick wipe off with some carb cleaner on a rag with somthing flat inside. Quick and easy and from the looks of that polish job (im jealous) youll be doing it 1-2..

This being my only bike at this time cant go down twoo long with out me going nuts, right now the only thing keeping me from the road is My tank needing to be por15 and a new rear tire... Close real close.. Check out the how bored can you get painted silver/brake paint cyl head bolt heads/ cams...

Can't wait to see it with the body/seat/wheels/carbs/pods/Some cool blinkers/(not so sure about the blue rear sprocket)/tinted ((where did you get it and how much ?? ))wind screen/pc rear swing arms/ did you say s/s frnt/rear break lines.
Great job.:)

Hey Joe. I have that very exhaust on my 1100E. Just thought you'd like to know that it has a wonderful sound. You're going to like it.

This is a great build thread! Kudos to you, dude.

Thanks man,

The blue sprocket is a Votex I believe it was $89.00. If you want to order one it uses the same rear hub bolt pattern as a 98 Bandit 1200 (many colors to choose from). http://www.vortexracing.com/index.php?src=gendocs&ref=Sprockets&category=Products

Yes on the front and rear SS lines, I still need the top one for the front system. I would like to find a Daytona fork brace for it also

Thanks for the tip on the painting in the side covers. I wasnt sure how I was going to do it, might look a little unfinished without it.
