As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi GS tinkerer of the world.
As it's been sugested in my presentation here is a first try at showing you a picture of my new project.
moiphotobucket

Now I don't know if the picture is there at all or if there are 3 copies but I hate tranfering them already

Now for the short story:
It is my second Bimota rebuild the first being a KB1 wich is now on loan to a museum.
I found this one on ebay in Pensylvania and bought it even if it was very incomplete as you can possibly see in the picture (s) wich shows what I started with.
Over the next 3 years I found most of the very rare parts needed to start rebuilding wich brings us to now...

The part hunting story will be in the next part.

Happy new year!!!

Not sure what it is but keep the pics coming, it looks interesting :)

Wow! Fun project! More photos please.

BTW, if you upload your photos to photobucket or similar you can link them here using the

The picture may disappear and only show a red box, but here is an attempt to show a larger image.

Welcome, very nice! Any pics of the completed KB1?
According to Pete's link, the Bimota SB4 was the world's most expensive production bike, when it appeared....how cool that they selected the GS1100 engine, to power such an exotic beast.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the nice words.
A picture of my KB1 .... sure but it has motor I am afraid to name here made in Japan by a company wich starts by K. will I get banned ???

Oops I was going to put more pictures but I am now told by the attachements window that 1 image is as much as I am allowed !!!???
I have tried Photobucket but the pictures I put in it do not have the required "img" line.

Back to the rebuild story.
After buying the parts lot my first idea was to make something of a resto mod out of it as i was sure i could never find the required parts to make it original but...

In 3 years of looking at the parts add throughout the world I found and bought:

In France : footpegs and pedals
In US : Marzochi M1R fork
In Canada : NOS. wheels !!! and NOS bars.
In Japan : fuel tank, battery box, shock linkage, front fender, rear caliper bracket, subframe, missing brake disc.
In Netherland : triple clamps
In England : a fairing replica.

There are still quite a few missing pieces though wich is why I am thinking of buying a lathe so that I will be able to machine the varying spacers, axles etc myself.

The GS1100 part is taken care of by a very very ugly but running bike that was given to me in a "take that out of my place" deal.

I have pics off all of this but

One Image per post .... ok.
Here is the corner of my garage where it is all happening :

Francois, to save on your frustration, here's a link to our friendly BassCliff's PDF on how to post pic's here on the forum.

If you use links to Photobucket, you can put up to 10 in one post.

Myself, I use the "IMG thumb" code from Photobucket as it allows only a little thumbnail to show in the thread, but allows people to click on it for the full picture.

I find that way it doesn't obscure the text and allows for a lot more detail in one post without causing it to be too long...

One more try...
The corner of my garage where it is happening:

Am I the only one seeing it now ???

Good Thanks :)
The problem was in my photobucket account settings.
Now for your viewing pleasure, my favorite part of the SB4 : the steering head bracing.
IMG_0012.jpg

It must not flex and wallow !!!

That frame is awesome. They could have cleaned up the welds a bit though.....kidding! At those production numbers these had to have been done by hand, no?

Very unique and rare bike. Looking forward to following the build. :)

I remember when that was on ebay. Thought about going for it. Glad it went to a good home. Had a SB2 way back when. Loved that bike, but with me at 6'5", it felt tiny and looked even stranger when I rode.
