DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just a reminder of which hand does what. Might need it since it's been almost four months since I got to ride.

sport bike roots run way to deep for foot clutch. Nothing against em just not on my bike. Speaking of clutch levers I repaired mine yesterday. The hole in the lever was oblonged from use and wasn't letting me adjust properly so... Out comes the drill and two seconds later I'm round again. Then I drilled the top of the perch the same diameter and sliped a bonze bushing from the hardware store into place and checked for fit. Then disassembled the works and drilled the bottom to the size of my new bolt.

that carb looks like a labor of love. you could earn my respect with that one picture.

thanks guys, when I showed the misses all she could muster was "uh-huh". Don't know if it was love or stuborn stupidity that drove me but the results were worth all the time it took. Just need to order some parts to rebuild em and that's about all that's left minus registration. More like castration! Since I'm at a loss for parts on this and my car(can't find the tail lights in garage),I spent my time cleaning up from all my activity. After I sat back and had a smoke and just enjoyed looking at my bike. Even dorked out and stuffed one of the carbs on just to see. With a few moments to reflect I'm one lucky s.o.b.

:D Wow !
I dont know how i missed this thread for so long but i'm sure glad i found it now, great little project that shows what can be done with a little skill & determination well done fella :D

Ive not built a chop for 10 years or more but now the bar hopper thats been buzzing around in my head for a while has to be built & ITS ALL YOUR FAULT !

:cool:sorry tone but someone had to light the fire! Very flatering that it was me and my lil 400. All it took was determination and about $1200. Should finish up well under two grand, that's done and registered with insurance. If you haven't already seen it the begining of the build is in the owners forum under "newbie-hi ianfrancisco". Shows the frame mods as they progressed and what not. Thanks for the compliment, now go start yours so I'll have another build to follow.

i like it

i like it

i always like the idea of using a cheep jap bike to do a custom. those little yamaha verago v twins also look great. most of us here are into stock or high performance mods. good job , have fun and enjoy what you have created.

damn a 7/11!?! I want one of those so bad. Had a fighter 750 a few bikes ago.

its a 750L frame, usd's, 5.5 rear wheel etc just finishing off the new subframe & doing a dry build then i'll rip it down for paint, powdercoat etc then i need to decide wether to use the engine out of my 1100K fighter or go hunting for another one .......... its going to be a another fighter btw & will hopefully end up 1216cc next year :)

alright check this out, while cleaning up the garage I found a can of starter spray. Unable to resist myself I sprayed a couple of squirts into each port and to kicks later I was running!!! Although briefly since my carbs where still on the bench. Just waiting on the ups man to bring me the last of my parts to finish. I forsee a couple of blast down my street in a week or so. If you could only have seen my smile.

feel free! After 14yrs of tattooing I've learned there's no such thing as an original idea. I'm sure I'm not the first to get that.

it's alive!!!! Primed the carbs few kicks and vroom! Idled rough and as I started to adjust it died. Tweenty minutes of kicking and nothing. Starter spray didn't help was getting spark, huh???? At some point I turned the petcock off! Already off and running on my Darwin award campaign for this year but damn! After that it sat and idled sweetly as I fiddled about tuning. placed a fan in front of the bike and let it run. It has been nine months since it was started. Shut it off and it started first kick. Thanks again Ian for the manual! From the carbs to ignition it's been a god send. Almost done reading the whole thing. Tomorrow I'll tackle the front caliper and adjust the clutch and chain. Then I still need a master cylinder for the front. Kinda want a remote resevoir unit. Just think they look trick, no other reason. I got some cash right now so it should be done in a day or so. Registered and insured no less!
