I have an 81 450t that I successfully completed a valve clearance/shim replacement job on today. Successful of course to the wealth of information I have found here.
Intake: Cyl 1 was .04 and Cyl 2 .05
Exhaust was very different.
Cyl 1 was <.03 with a 2.60 shim. I threw in a 2.55 which gave me .03. Next weekend i will grab a 2.50x and open it up a bit more.
Cylinder 2 was >.07 but <.10 with a 2.60x. 2.65 got it to .07.
Now my question is both intake lobes would have a constant coating of oil through rotation while both exhaust with just a smidge taken off the lobe on 1.
both exhaust, however would be wiped almost completely clean.
Any feedback is appreciated.
