A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

There are better choices for cheaper. Look up Matchless's R/R thread and start reading up if you want to maximize value in your R/R purchase. Also, rewire the charging system per GSR conventional wisdom. Tons of info on that in the archives as well.

Good luck

Buy a Honda RR, SH-232 or SH-532 and follow the instructions on the link below my sig line.

The best part is it bolts in the same holes as the original and it's easy to wire it in. And they don't fail.

Hey Ive got a stock looking 5 wire R&R ,redid the wiring ,new connectors, single point ground . At 2500 rpm it would start at 13v and just keep climbing 15v ,at 5000 rpm went up to high 15v .Duaneage i bought a honda R&R off you year or so ago for my 750 and ,its still working ,so thats probably the way i will go. Is sh-232 0r the sh-532 better? thanks for the help

15.0 volts is fine, particularly if the battery is discharged. I wouldn't worry until you get higher than that.

My battery is new and fully charged ,when i said high 15v i meant 15.5 to 15.8 v at 5000 rpm .I probably didnt explain it well sorry

Your regulator is not regulating. Do not run the bike until you replace it.

Duaneage i found some honda RR on ebay, they have sh232-12 and then they had numbers after that (ex. 0.7, 1.0,1.6,1.2) what do these numbers mean and is a higher number better? Thanks

They are the same except for the way wires come out of the case. The 232 has longer leads and was my all time favorite because they are usually cleaner. The 532 was used on dirt bikes and tend to be muddy.
