DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Got some pictures of son-in-law when he was a kid from his mother. And some were similar to pictures I have of our daughter at similar age. I combined some of those together, and made an 8x10 of them, and framed it.

Will be at their house in a couple days. I intend to put on display with some of their other pics and see how long it takes them to notice it.

I think they liked it. They had seen the individual pics before at their wedding reception, so were not too surprised.

And they had fun reenacting the scenes:

Here is the little one we have been having fun with. Age 20 months.

We got her a balance bike (some call Strider).
No pedals, seat low enough to get feet on ground.
Her cousins did well when they were about that age. Actaully do better about age 2.

First they kinda just walk around with it. ANd after a while they get to where are taking longer strides and coasting some inbetween. Meanwhile they are learning to balance by steering.
Unlike a tricycle and/or a bike with training wheel where steer to steer.

I just completed the first of two of my Christmas gifts from my 15 year old, which actually are the family's gifts in the end.

An Alaskan Ulu Knife with the handle made using purple heart knife blanks and the block from some scrap walnut

I'm starting on the second this week - a rocking pizza cutter (full length blade). I will also try to make a pizza peel to go along with it.

Google balance bike racing. Those little kids are crazy.
Ha! Thanks, would not have thought of that. But I suppose if it has wheels someone will think of racing.

Here is my grandson on balance bike, racing me, him at age 3 (about 5 years ago)
Is only 18 seconds.

Its been a bit since I've had anything worth posting... I still dont, but am anyway:p.
When I headed out the moon was out illuminating some wispy clouds. Shortly later it was overcast.
I do like the silhouetted trees pictured, with the pine holding its litte place. I have always liked trees in the winter with their exposed branches, but getting an interesting shot of them is becoming one of those photo challenges for me.

Glen, have you ever noticed a peculiar circular pattern that tree branches take when light passes through them? Almost as if they were part of a wooden spider web. It happens with street lights in particular.

Here's an image from Google. I've always found this fascinating.

Ha.

I can understand that.
Even when you get an interesting very good shot, like that, you can still keep trying for other shots at the similar places or that same place.

Does a bowler quit when gets a perfect game?
Does a golfer quit if gets a hole-in-one?

I've seen similar, but haven't tried for pics. I try not to get that close to streetlights when I'm taking night shots. That is a cool image.
I've become intrigued by the spots where the artificial lighting is fading into darkness.
