Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Random Photo thread

Thanks. It was nice to get a keeper. I was out a few times this week and everything I got was so so.
I have a couple more images from last night to review. That one was interesting as it was the first pic I took at that spot- one of those instances where first is best.... and I did minimal editing- just rotated very slightly to get the leading line on the left vertical.

I'm hoping for some nice skies tonight. The rain has stopped and its supposed to start to clear up so I'm hoping for random clouds or clear. Its warm too, so maybe fog which is another condition I want to explore.

This was one of my flops from the week. I had hoped to capture ambient light showing the exterior wall and still have the shop interior with the old Porche inside visible. I could only get one of the other. I visited the spot twice.

Nice. We're a bit past peak in NJ. Its been a very dry few months so it hadn't been as colorful here.

Fall colours at Flood Falls taken last weekend. This time on the west coast. Two coasts in one month, time to stay home for a while.

Ha, I never suspected it was edited ...

The blurred passing boat in one of the others is cool. Judging from the album, it looks like a beautiful place and a good time.

Thanks, I wish I had that sky to use with other photos.

Charleston is a very beautiful place, and is a great time. We will be back.

Took over 240 photos, really did a lot of low light, high ISO or long duration shots. Lots of fun experiments.
Whittled it down to about 125 or so worth working with.
The album is the first 36 I finished and liked.
Got maybe another 30+ from touring the aircraft carrier Yorktown, a submarine, the Charleston Market, and the beach.

Finished up the clock for my other Uncle and brought it home today. Various scheduling issues between us mean I can't go to Maryland to deliver it for a bit longer so it will sit here. He is a retired Master Chief Petty Officer Radioman having served in the Submarine service onboard the USS Finback SSN 670 (second sub of that name). My Aunt served on the USNS Comfort hospital ship as a Senior Chief Petty Officer Personnelist (Retired)
