DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have a 1983 GS750ES and I was wondering if it is posible to service the mono shock on this bike. I am not sure if it is shot or not but it is 23yrs old and I think a service might be due. I was also wondering if there is a replacement out there from a newer GSXR or something nif this shock is shot.

Thanks in advance

Mark

I don't know who owns this but he did a nice writeup (can't find the post right now), but he uploaded & is hosting some pics of his conversion.

I have my gs1100 going this route soon, fronts done, just have the rear left to do.

Good Luck

My bike already has a Mono on it. I was just wondering if there is one that I can use to replace the existing one.

That's mine. I stopped working on it for a while. I had to rebuild a dirt bike for my son and this one took a back seat. I'll start in again soon and try to finish this off. Just adding an oil cooler now.

The stock shock may be servicable with some cutting and welding. I'd check with some pros that do shock rebuilding. If not there may be some replacements available - penske, works, maybe even adapting one from a newer bike.

I, also, have a 1983 GS750ES. I seem to recall that there is a thread on this subject buried in the Technical Section - you will have to do a search. I also seem to recall that Billy Ricks (who has a 1985 GS700ES) said that some suitably-modified GSXR 750 monoshocks should work - don't remember which ones. I don't believe the OE shock is rebuildable but perhaps you can find someone that will give it a go.
