A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm looking to put a wider tire on my '81 GS750ex. What later year wheels will fit this stock swingarm? What modifications are necessary?
Any help appreciated.

Anybody do any kind of wheel swap with GSXR or Kat. I was thinking maybe off a Calvalcade.

First find out how much tire your stock swingarm can take, I think it was narrower then one of a 1100, I think you can swap it out for one out of a 1100, they can fit upto a 180 rear tire, do a search on this site and check the Katana part of my site for discriptions.

Robinjo, I dig your bike mate, its fantastic. :D Did you have to notch out your swingarm for the 180 tyre? My swingarm looks too narrow where the most front ward part of the tyre is.

Nope, swingarm is stock, it is a tight fit though.

Not my pic, Katman's I think but it was my inspiration.
Your Katana doesn't look half bad either, you got any pics? Mail me robinjo69@wanadoo.nl

The 750E and 1100E were identical escept for piston bore and side badges ( and probably price). Should fit, thanx.

Sorry to Hi-jack your thread Johnny :)

I currently have a 17" x 4.5" rear wheel from a late 80's Gixxer I believe. If I was to look for a 17 x 5.5, what do I need to look out for to make sure it fits or does anyone know of a model that will straight swap?

Cheers

James

I'm lead to believe that 18" wheeels front & back stop the weave.
Ant thoughts?
