A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I need suggestions to replace the bolt that holds the rear caliper arm to the frame. The part number is 468376-001 and apparently it is discontinued. Can I just replace it with a comparable lag bolt?

Thanks,

Raz

Thanks, I wish I could but the bike did not come with it. I got the part number from bikebandit where they show a pic but no dimensions.

Partshark (old Flatout) shows a superceded bolt number for a new bolt. Bike Bandit uses thier own numbers for parts. Maybe post in the parts wanted section, I am sure there are lots of them around here.

Thanks, I actually looked on the fiche for the G model and it's not there but I'm sure they're the same.

The caliper is bolted to the hanger with two bolts. Are both missing or just one? Any metric bolt with a “7”, 8.8, or three hash marks on the head, would be suitable for that application.

I'm actually looking for the bolt that holds the arm to which the hanger is bolted. The bolt that holds that arm to the frame.

if you google bolt and screw or bolt and nut with your zipcode, i bet there will be a store near you that specializes in these things. they sized my bolt, figured out the thread and pitch in about 30 seconds, and had a new bolt complete with washers and nut in my hand in less than 5 mins. costs a total of less than a dollar.

just a thought if you can get the proper size/pitch

check www.mrcycles.com for their parts fisches.. they are really clear and have proper parts numbers.

that should be your bike.

That bolt has a hole drilled in the end so a cotter pin can be used. The nut is a castle nut as well.

I’m pretty sure I have a spare bolt and nut like this in the spares bin. I can check later today if needed.

I found the bolt and a matching castle nut. Send me a PM if you want it.
