    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Replacement shock for '85 700E

I am beginning to think that the rear shock on my 700E is a bit worn and not working correctly. The adjustment knobs don't do anything anymore so I know it hasn't been working right for a while. Does anyone know of a replacement shock I can get that fits? I haven't taken it out to get an eye-to-eye measurement yet, but I am thinking there has to be something I can get to fit. May not be as easily adjustable but should be good, right? I have checked and the OEM shock is NLA from Suzuki.
 
Sounds good but it lists as being sold as a pair. My bike has a mono-shock, I guess I will have to call them and see if they know their crap or not. A dual shock - shock will be WAY too long for sure. I will have to remove mine this weekend and get a measurement on it I guess. I don't want to spend $79 and then have to go thru the hassle to return it because they are stupid.
 
Those Progressive shocks are not the correct ones for your bike since as you noted, you have a mono shock.

I don't know the answer to your question but measuring the length is a good start. Also, take note of any clearance issues at the ends. Lots of sport bike guys upgrade their suspension so there are tons of used CBR/GSXR/ZX type shocks that can be had for cheap. Many of these shocks have an attached remote reservior of some type though, which makes mounting difficult depending your specific application.

I just sold 2 sets of R6 and R1 rear shocks i had to use for a race car I was building too. I bet they would have worked - except for the attached reservoir. I know I have seen some that have the res remote with a hose, so maybe one of those will work.

Mono-shocks don't come cheap. I got lucky and was the first to come up with a very low asking price of $150 for one that was placed for sale here at the GSR.
 
The hagon monoshock for you GS750ES is $440....
