I've been having charging issues with my '85 550L for a while now. It's not been in my "stable" for a couple of years, but now I'm tasked to trouble-shoot why it's always needing a charge.
I just put a new battery in it, new NGK plug caps, cleaned all electrical connections & wired in the coil relay mod.
Started going through the stator papers & I can't get ANY voltage reading from the stator... is this a classic sign of a failed stator?? I think it's just running (poorly) on a stand-alone battery charge.
Sooooo, what is the consensus regarding replacement stators?? Electrosport? New OEM? Used OEM?
I sense a new stator in my future & want to know what's the best one to buy??
