A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

hello, does the 81 750ex have a reserve tank? the petcock that i replaced has a reserve on it. i bought the petcock from a suzuki dealer. guess what happenend when i had to use reserve? putt putt sputter- ran out of gas. 8O luckily i was near a gas station. so i didn't have to push too far! when i filled the tank the bike started right up. the suzuki manual shows a petcock picture with no reserve. so am i right thinking this bike/model has no reserve tank? seems like when i filled it up it only took 3.8 gallons and i thought it was a 5 gallon tank..... any help is much appreciated! :D

I think what happened was that you were too late, the floatbowls were empty and the fuel couldn't get there in time, if this happens again turn the petcock to the 'prime' postion for 20 seconds, then back to 'reserve' and it should start again.

thanks for the reply Robinjo. :)

i will do that next time. the bike has only been up and running about 3 months and this was the first time i'd see how long the tank can go before hitting reserve. i'm pretty sure i turned the petcock to reserve the second i felt it miss/run a bit dry. are the GS's different than other bikes about this ? anyhoo, i will try this. tho i feel like toting (don't know how) a bit of gas along just in case! i'll keep u posted. :D

with a full tank of fuel you can still run on reserve are you sure that your valve is facing the right direction?
