A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

After logging 1500 miles in the last month or so with the old GS750E, I'm returning to my roots of riding a relatively light, good handling, wind in your face but reliable ride. Life is simpler now! And to prove it, after logging over 2k miles on it, I SOLD my K100RT yesterday. No more full fairing, windshield, heated grips and hard bags ....and also shed some 100 pounds of bike weight.
Now that I have good tires on it, the 750 is really a pleasure to ride....simple, agile and with sufficient power to keep up with the flow without the temptation to get into too much trouble. Even though the BMW did everything well and was rock solid both in the twisties and in reliability, I just didn't quite feel at home riding it. So now with a newly arrived spare parts bike (thanks to TAS850G for delivery today), I'll ride the snot out of the 750E for now and have replacement items on hand if needed. I even swapped out (2 minute job) for the spare bike's king/queen seat (always thought they were kind of gay looking) to take my wife out and it worked out pretty well. But 90% of my riding is solo so I'll be going back to the stock one. So that's my story...for today anyway. I do suffer from bike attention deficit disorder and it may change next week....or when the cold weather returns....well now to go check CL ads to reinvest my $....I did see an 1100E with potential!

I know what you mean old mate . I had a K100RS that was a good bike . Then I bought and "did up" a '79 GS1000S . The BM was a better bike in every way except for the GRIN and PLEASURE factors . Went from a sewing machine to a Howitzer and have never looked back .
My GRINNER is siezed though .

Cheers , Simon . :dancing:

glady you are enjoying the GS again, but surprised you sold the other ride. your garage could fit so many bikes I was amazed to see it so clean and relatively empty.

Oh, still didnt get the parts mounted up but thanks for the good deals.

Watched Easy Rider with Fonda, Hopper and Jack again last night....happened to be on when flipping channels....:-k
Poorly made movie but still inspired me to forgo work and take to the countryside on the "simple back to basics" ride. Maybe not x-country but a few pics along my 200+ mile, 7 hour, carefree solo jaunt.

Another stop....not pretty and out of site like the K100RT but the old GS works good as a mule too!

...a few minutes to ponder (actually 45 min...no hurry!) by the lake as I crossed into Maine for awhile. Check the newly paved roads....Rt 153, smooth and like a racetrack for miles!!:D
