All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Saturday I was returning from the rally on my GS1100E. I had just spent an hour riding through some significant rain. It was no longer raining, but the roads were wet. I was on I74, approaching the intersection of I74 and 465. The road y-ed, 465s on the left, 465n on the right (my lane), with no one in front of me. On my left (465s lane), ahead of me, was a convoy of car, car, 16 wheeler, car, 16 wheeler, car.
Something did not look right to me, so I held off and stayed behind them. A beat up Celica then decided to pull in behind me and try to push me. I resisted, still feeling uneasy about the convoy. Sure enough, the trailing 16 wheeler went over the solid white lines right into my lane, just a little in front of me. If I had accelerated as I should have, or let the Celica push me, I would have been right beside the 16 wheeler, out of his line of vision.
Whew. After merging with 465n, the Celica whipped past me, obviously miffed at my not allowing him to push me. Tough, buddy.

That's the kind of instincts that Keep You around to attend more Rides George, Good Call!:)

As Magnum PI used to say, " You have to listen to your inner voices".

I agree and it looks like you do as well. Over the years, I'v done a lot of reading on the subject of precognition to give it one name. Most experts put it down to awarness of situation combined with a wealth of life experience. Your mind draws on stored knowledge and tries to apply it to the present situation and when things don't fit...the bells go off.

It has saved my bacon a time or two and I never go against my inner voice ( I used to have "voices" but the meds cleared that up \\:D/)

Seriously, you did the right thing. Hopefully more of us will learn from your lesson.

Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
spyug.

Glad you missed an unhappy date with disaster, George!

See you next month in Fennimore!
