A bit cheeky perhaps as I have only just signed up for this forum.
I have a 1984 GSX750E and the rev counter won't read above 4,000 revs
.
Now it's fang- dangly electronic one and the bike had been standing for a few years before I bought her.
Could it be a bad connector/ earth?
Or is it the needle sticking?
Are you able to strip the clocks to get to the needles?
Is this a common problem?
I can't seem to find much info on these models as I believe they didn't sell very well and there's not many around now.
I also believe the speedo's under-reading, so that's something I need to investigate as well.
Thanking you in advance, Ian.
