A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey Rick...what's with the towel on the seat?
Is that some Florida thing to keep the seat from being 200? when you sit on it?

Imatation sheep skin, the seat on this bike gives me monkee butt. lol I dont have that problem on my 78. Go figure. I think I need to reshape the foam, it has a bit of a down hill thing going.

So, the caboose is still up for grabs? Now that my camera batteries are charged up and I can play hookey from work for a bit, I'm going to jump back into the game!:D

Go Dan Go, save me a 25 mile trip or a boring afternoon waiting for the train to go by.

Ah.... maybe your boring wait may end with a dissapointment.
I seem to have noticed that, around here, anyway, trains dont have cabooses anymore.

.

OK, here's the caboose. You may remember it from a riding game post last year that I did that triggered various caboose pictures. This time it's taken from the opposite side along the main highway, and I've included the old depot in the picture.

Now, here's the next tag if you can locate one. It's a fire tower (you may say, "huh?, what's that?", and if nobody can find one of these anachronisms, I've got a back up tag for that, but as per the original poster's thread rules for this game, I'll give it 48 hours. Game ON!:D

There are several around Lake Tahoe but near impossible to get to by all but dirt bikes. :(
Many, many miles off of any paved roads and impossible to see from them.

I'll check beck later...

Ditto for Oregon.
I've been to quite a few, but only in the Jeep. Here's one:

There was even one on the local news last year telling about how this one in particular is the highest one in the Country.
Only manned 6 month's of the year. During "Fire Season."

Eric

Around here none of the towers are manned anymore. All fire spotting is done by satellite imagery and spotters in airplanes. Hence, they're all closed and locked up. There is one to visit though, and it's in Itasca State Park (where the Mississippi River originates out of Lake Itasca), I took Ian, a GSR member from OZ to check it out. We rode about 950 miles in 3 days when he was here, he never in his life saw so much water on land.:D

Here is what is left of our local fire tower. Its a pitiful state of affairs since it was closed three years ago. It was dismantled since vandles and druggies used to break in and climb it. No its used by one of the local business for radio transmission.(Waste Management CO.) Is it acceptible for the tag?

Next tag if the last one is acceptible is a local political office. I had Hannity cranked up on the sterio when I took these.

You never see any activity around there, and it looks like they took down the Obama poster they had in the second window. I wonder if they know something?

Sure, it'll do. I can recognize it as a has been fire tower, looks just like ours, just missing the shelter on top.:D

All right then, game on.

I don't know if it went national, but this tower is 1/4 of a mile from, Big Tree Park. Home of "the Senator" the worlds oldest cypress tree, that was burnt down by a meth head, back in January. It was the fifth oldest tree in the world and back in the day a major tourist attraction. Now, sadley the quaint little park is or was a fag tag or pickle park as we call them down here. For some reason these nice little parks where families took their kids to play and have picknicks, have turned into perverted meeting grounds. Its just make you sad when you think of where thiscountry has become in the last 20-30 years.
