DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

No stone wheels around here. :(
They are everywhere, with several still in working condition, back in Virginia though.
Too far to ride for the tag. :p

I asked a few people I know today, and no one could think of one.
If i was still in Ontario there is a giant one in Mill Race park in Cambridge tho.
4000kms away, lol.

Ok, you guys are getting lazy and your not getting a "bye" on this one, you'll have to vote my tag out, but what I'm about to show you will make that a little difficult, you have to actually RIDE somewhere out of your comfort zone, you won't find my tags usually commuting back and forth to work.
I just left the hospital, less than an hour ago, to let my wife rest (she had some minor surgery) and decided to go home for awhile, but with a few slight detours, and decided I would take a picture of any and all mill stones I find on the way, now I can't believe that Ohio has all of them cornered here.

Tired of looking at my bike yet....go get the tag:lol::cool:

Well EVIDENTLY Ohio DOES have them cornered out. I've never seen one in the state of Illinois. Not to say there aren't any, I've just never seen them. I have seen 1 or 2 in Indiana... I'm fairly positive that there aren't any near me... I still keep my eye open for anything unusual that would make a good tag... Bike is back together and ridable again. Although I'm running open header (temporarily). Parts list on order...

Cornered ! Looks like it's the state preferred address display.:D None around here. Unless somebody's grinding trees with them.;)

Wait...so the new tag is wind surfers?

No, I was the original poster of the mill stone, I was just beating on everybody for not finding one yet, and posted a bunch more to motivate... so tag is still the same, I wouldn't try and pull a goofy impossible tag like a wind surfer:lol::lol::lol::eek::cool:

Dang...we could do wind surfers here. You could generalize and use land kite boards/buggies, etc...

I can't ever recall seeing a millstone within a couple of hundred miles of here.

So, to reiterate:

A mill stone is still the tag.

I googled and found a bunch in Il, but none within a 100+ miles, but thats just what was advertised as historical or tourism sites, bet there's more than you think, Indianna, Illinois and Ohio were similar in agriculture. But there still may not be none in your area.

I'm going back out and put another 100 miles or so on the bike before I head back to the hospital, and see if I can come up with a backup tag for you ladies in case everyone cries uncle, and I'll make most of you post the "uncle" as well.;):D

p.s.
backup tag will still be tougher than store fronts and staues, I'm trying to make them generic enough for most demographics.

Found a mill stone on display not too far from home. Will go get it tonight if no one else has already.

I've driven through all three town within an hours drive and have not seen any.
There was never any mills around here though, just farmers that grow it, elevators that store it and trains that move it to places that DO have mills, lol.

I am trying though.
