    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Rubber intake boots?

I am trying to purchase the rubber intake boots for my 1980 GS550L "the boots that go from the carbs to the cylinders", does anyone have any ideas on where these can be purchased?
P.S. - I have tried the search feature but alas I have found none.

You could try Bikebandit.com or contact a local suzuki motorbike dealership.
 
+1 on bikebandit having them. Make sure to get (2) right and (2) left, there is a difference.

Also get new o-rings that go on the boots.

motogrid.com is a good bit cheaper than bike bandit, but their shipping is higher.
 
Just throwing in that I have found Babbitts is universally cheaper (and tends to ship faster) than Bike Bandit.

Please excuse me, Dr., but I need to shrink your universe just a bit. 8-[

I have been doing a bit of shopping around for all the little bits and pieces that will be necessary to get my son's bike on the road. Yes, Babbitts is cheaper than Bike Bandit, but only on parts that cost more than $3.00. :shock:

Checking a bunch of little parts like clutch springs, clutch bolts, cam end cover screws, cam tensioner o-rings and some others, all of the other suppliers have these for as little as 76 cents (in the case of the tensioner o-ring), but Babbitts charges $2.97 for all of them. I can understand a minimum charge for your TOTAL order, but not for each part.

This is where I've been ordering all of my OEM parts for my 1980 GS250 that I'm restoring. I got my intake boots from them and they fit perfectly.

They have exploded views of each part of your bike and then you order each part one at a time. I've ordered every single part that I've needed.

Good point, you are right about every bolt, pin, etc... costing $2.97 USD at Babbits. For those I'd use Bike Bandit. On the other hand, an Igniter that is $312.00 on BB is $270.00 on Babbitts. Point taken.
