A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

S model (Cooley) paint measurements?

I've seen somewhere ?either here or on the www? that someone had carefully taken measurements of the stripes and corresponding placements on a Cooley paint project, and posted great photos of these measurements. Getting ready to paint tank and front fender and sure could use the numbers. Anyone gotta link? Thanks in advance!

My photobucket account has some photos, and I have more at home. Please check it out Frank and let me know what else you might need.

Yeah. Ed, i have your photobucket bookmarked (great references btw), but i need measurements for tank and front fender. If you can point me in the right direction (or post here) will be grateful.

Snagged this tank pic from Larry Pearson's build... good start, could use a bit more info (esp. top of tank). Thanks guys.

Perfect!... thanks a bunch Ed.

Would be cool to do a red/white version, Sharpy... have yet to see one in the States.

Yeah, there sort or rarer of the two models here. Even had a "expert" say to me that it wasntst a S as they never come out in red and white, What do you say to people like that?

These are the ones I took.

Hope that helps. I used these as the basis for all 8 S's that I painted.

Awesome! Thanks again guys. Time to mix up a bit of St. Lawrence white and Grabber blue; leaving this to the pros tho.

I have the original scans....search Cooley paint codes found!!! Pics of the mix labels there. In the appearance section.

Given Larry painted the covers and tail cowl last year, i'll have my guy match to these... but will def pass on the codes to him as well.

Found the original pictures, so here are the scan from my 1979 Cooleys original factory paint.

What tank are you planning to paint Frank? The original from when you bought Russ's bike? Rust bubble on the top surface and lined inside? If so, I did the derusting and Por-15 work on that tank. Saw the bubble but it didn't leak during the derusting process so I left it alone. Hopefully the metal is solid.

Ed, i actually may have both tanks painted... though jury is still out on that front. Your tank is indeed solid; no issues there, just thinking a refresh would be cool while paint is mixed. Prudence tells me to shoot the original, and put the dough toward a new-ish motorcycle. Decisions decisions...
