DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Schnitz Racing and Dyna S

I'm thinking of ordering a Dyna S from Schnitz Racing; their prices are pretty good. If you've dealt with them, how was the experience? Thanks.

Dyna III vs. Dyna S

Dyna III vs. Dyna S

Other than the (obvious!) price difference, I see the Dyna III having a module that fires the coils, and the Dyna S firing the coils directly, what are the differences pro/con of the III and the S?

I had a dyna 3 on my old kawasaki and it helped it wake up all my other mods, Have a dyna s on the 1150 and it basicly does the same only cheaper. had the s for ten years with no trouble........skip

My preference for the III stems from my belief that heat kills electronics, and I wanted my ignition mounted somehere not too hot, however Skip's valued experience would seem to make mine a moot point....

Yeah, I felt the same way, being a broadcast engineer and tech, that having the electronics someplace other than inside the points cover, and in a module that looks to be finned for cooling, might be better. I talked to Scott at Dynatek tech support, and he said there was really no difference in reliability, only a cleaner install with the Dyna S because of not having to wire to the module AND coils. But I couldn't resist the $50 savings of the III over the S, so I just ordered the III at Dynaonline. Thanks for the nudge to get the III, Lynn.

Skip - Did you see any difference in performance when you upgraded your 1150's electronic ignition to the Dyna S? Just wondering if it's worth it for me to pick up a dyna system (I currently have the stock electronic system).

Thanks,

Jeff
