Batteries from Wal-mart, Sealed & AGM ??? I saw batteryies at Wal-Mart today that say AGM & sealed. To my surprise they also had a bottle of acid included. From what I could figure, You need to put the acid in, then you seal the battery yourself. This doesn't sound like the ones I've been seeing on the internet, that you don't put anything in, I figured the ones on the internet were sealed from the factory. Also the Wal-Mart jobs have a 1 mo. replacement & 3 mo. pro rated warranty, almost like no warranty at all. I think the ones from the internet had 1 yr. replacement warranties. Are these the same as some of you guys are using, Do you install the acid yourself ?? Just trying to get THE REST OF THE STORY.

I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've bought a couple of batteries from wally world and never a problem. The ones available here are Engergizers'. I would prefer to fill the battery and charge it myself, rather than some nerd kid in the autoparts dept.

AGM batteries are gel-cell, they dont have a true liquid acid. if the battery says AGM and comes with acid, I would steer clear of that bit of false advertisement. Technically it isnt sealed either. Well, at least not sealed in the manner that I would consider as a sealed battery.

I saw those also when I went to Walmart to pick a cheap battery in a pinch. My old Yuasa was sealed when I got it. No acid to play with.
For just a little more than those you can get a true sealed battery online or maybe see if your local dealers can price match.
Walmart didn't even have a sealed battery that would work right for my bike anyway. I would have had to move wiring around for what they had to offer. When I put my bike into their little machine that tells you what to get it only showed the regular batteries as being available.

There's nothing wrong with that general way of doing things at all.
Both my bikes are wearing Yuasa YTX batteries. These come with premeasured acid packs. You add the acid, give it a little while to soak into the plates and jellify, give it an initial charge, then tap the seal strip into place to seal it forever.
That way, you get a battery that's factory-fresh when you activate it. Even if it sat in a warehouse for years, it won't affect the battery's life or function.
