Hi all, I'm hoping I can find a solution to a problem that will save me from splitting my engine - can anyone help?
Is there any way of slipping the secondary drive out the back of the engine without splitting the engine? The thread is damaged and won't take a nut anymore.
I've removed the four bolts and loosened the bolts that hold the two halves of the engine together above the secondary drive. I've also tried removing the left hand bevel but that doesn't want to shift either.
Haynes manual is very sketchy in detail on how to do this, as per usual I'm out of my depth and gone beyond the point of no return.
Any tips on how to get the bevel gear out would be very gratefully received.
