set me straight on carb mixture screw...

CV carbs, air mix screw on the top of the carb (under the press-fit plug)

When you turn it in, are you making it richer??

That's my assumption, although I've seen it posted both ways on this forum...

Turning it left makes it richer, because your lifting the Needle up further off it's seat increasing flow, turning it right makes is more lean your pushing the needle further into the seat....restricting flow

No, when you turn it in (clockwise) you are leaning it out. I just did my nephew's 650G and started by turning them in all the way and then backing them out (counterclockwise) 2 full turns before starting the bike, but then had to back them out 1 more full turn(3 total) to idle nice.

If carb air mixture screw is between the carb body and the cylinder head, it is a fuel mixture screw and turning it clockwise will lean the amount of gas you are giving it.

If the screw is before the carb (infront of the carb body next to the airbox side) it is an air screw and regulates air with the same clockwise less air counterclockwise more air. This is more evident on lawnmowers.

These are CV carbs & they only have the one mixture screw on the top, between the carb & cylinder...

My confusion centered around whether this was metering fuel or air. I now see it's a fuel metering screw.
