DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Shade tree body shop

I'm sure you all have heard of the shade tree mechanic, but has anyone heard of the shade tree body shop employee? Had to do some sanding today and reapply more filler so I figured this would be the coolest place to do it.

Warmish temperatures with high humidity so this was the best I could come up with. Just not quite enough air movement though.

Larry,

You could hang a window fan from a tree branch! LOL (I say this because I do most of my bodywork under my back porch that has a ceiling fan!)

Yep, the very reason I have it outside. Plus the fact that the dust doesn't cover the other bikes in the garage when sanding outdoors.

Very nice... what paint did you use? PPG from a gun or rattle with a Y2K over it? I have some I need to get to task with soon...

That's a really nice shade of blue. I like it.

Thanks Larry. Did you get the PM I sent you? I have more work to do on it but I was pretty stoked with the result so far. The end result should be even nicer, hopefully.

That's a great transformation. Love it! Nicely done.

Thanks BigD. It has been and still is a work in progress.

Looks great Larry!!! I love the color! 

Thanks Norm. Yeah, I love the color also.

Thanks Dan. I used paint from an automotive paint supplier here in Omaha called RedShaw Paint Supply. It is SEM Factory Pack Automotive Basecoat. Comes in a rattle can at the cost of $27 per can including tax. Yes, Y2K Spraymax over it. Lesson learned, the job would have been faster and better if I would have used a spray gun. My 1st can looked like crap after it dried. The 2nd can helped a lot but not good enough. The 3rd can finally gave me the result I wanted. The 4th can will be used to do the tailpiece of the bike since it has some scratches.

Thanks for fixing the link for me Ed. I don't know why my post of the pic only showed up as a link. That happened twice now. Earlier posting of pics worked the right way but this one did not.

I've had luck with rattle can with Y2k before on the skunk, always used Duplicolor underneath as a base. The best paint job I did was with Ed's spray gear on my 750... :D

Yeah,. I will be using the spray gun when I repaint my Honda Tupperware. Too much to cover by can.
