I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I'm having a hard time finding any pictures. I'm not crazy about the screw on emblems(1980 850) but I can't decide whether or not the tank is too big to shave them. I don't want it to look like a school bus. I've decided on a gloss black and silver two tone paint scheme, just not if I want to glass over the emblem area. If anyone has any pictures I'd love to see them.

well worst comes to worst and you don't like it you can always place a decal on it lol =p

The tank on my 750L has the emblems removed. The screw holes have been filled in and painted over. Take a look at this picture.

That looks great but our tanks are very different. This 850 has a massive tank with lots of squared corners and lines. I really like your seat.

I think the early 850 has enough lines and ridges to it, has an interesting shape, but has huge flat sides. The emblems help break up the huge sides. But it all depends on what you do with the paint.

I have seen filled ones leak, someone puntured the tank with too long emblem screws, (very common) after it was filled with bondo or whatever the gasoline ate the filler from the inside.

Well I think I might prefer the emblems on it. The tank is full of water right now(electrolysis cleaning) so I know it isn't leaking from the emblems. Thanks for the picture, it helped me make up my mind.

What color is that tank painted...?
I really like the way it looks....
My 1983 GS850 GL has tank emblems and side covers of a similar color , but I am going to put on some saddlebags and was thinking about painting the doors to match the blue...
