    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just wrapped up the new paint on Chuck Hahn's GS1000 Skunk, thought maybe you'd like to see the results. Hard to beat freshly polished black. :D

That's amazing, the pin stripping looks flawless, the whole paint job looks as perfect as it can get, well done! That is going to be one nice bike when you're done, indeed.

It's been a pleasure, Chuck. If I would've been thinking, I'd have had you send me the new tank badges, too, so I could've snapped a few pics with them mounted..dang.

Larry and the membership..Dont think for a second that just maybe a few pics will show up in my rebuild thread!! The new gold tank and side cover badges will accentuate the artistry of your work very well. I splurged and ordered the new gold ones staright from Suzuki..just like i did for the marroon 78 C.

Package them like they need to survive a nuclear blast in ........................

Chuck, concerning that paint job, it just doesn't get any better than that!
Can't wait to see that Skunk completed, gonna be awesome for sure!

I took the 78 1000 C in yesterday for the Texas money grabbing annual inspection so i can then pay them more money for the plates and registrations. The inspectors and half the guys in the shop came over to see it..wait till i roll in on this bad boy!!! My buddy Tony tells me TEXAS is a scramble for TAXES..I believe him!!!

Larry, you forgot to include the factory "orange peel" finish.

If I were Chuck, I would demand a re-paint.

Besides, some of those panels don't look black at all, you just cut some mirrors into those shapes.

Other than that, I guess it was an OK job. :D

Having once owned a brand new 78 Skunk, I can say that that is one fine coat of BLACK! Nicer than new!

Larry,

Great work!

I take it that the gray ring around the filler neck is the protective layer of Liquid Steel (or whatever it is) that you use to prevent fuel damage?
