DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How do you find that on bikebandit? I've been looking for the same thing for my bike, but I can't find where it would be on the site.

Click on OEM parts :)
It's the bigest thing to click on right smack in the center
of the home page.

Rock on!

She said that the side covers were available on bikebandit new. Wouldn't OEM be used? Hell even if they've been sitting on a shelf in a box in a warehouse for 23 years, I'd still consider that used.

The side covers are on the FRAME COVER schematic. (I looked on the schematic for the GS850GL.) They are $60.98 each. They probably are not painted. You can also get the emblems for $22.76 each. They also have some of the other hardware.

LOL :)
That is new Mike. They don't actually manufacture vintage motorcycles parts anymore. OEM is the new stuff.

That's how you find it. I have bought plenty off there, they just get it from dealers that's all so it is the same thing you would get at the dealer.

I see. Well, it looks like my side covers are discontinued and will set me back $999.99

I'll see about selling some of my old comics...

Yeah, I know. I guess my humor doesn't translate well over the ole' cyber-web.

Have you looked on ebay? Cheap used panels come up from time to time. You might have to repaint them but a little time with some sandpaper and a spraycan could work well. Would be cheaper than the OEM new stuff.

My bike (GS550) was missing the left side panel when I bought it. New from BikeBandit was something like $45, emblem not included. Found one on ebay for a lot less...

Yeah, I got one on ebay for $15. Obviously not the right color, but it has the emblem, (which I'll take off anyway) and is in good shape. Still looking for the other one, though. When I've been riding for a while and I'm pretty sure that I won't be dropping the bike too much anymore, I'll have them painted along with the tank. I'm thinking a deep burgundy.
