All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Could we get a couple shots of your bobber in the background? Have an idea like that for an old V45 I have in the yard.

Thanks,

Read the whole thread. Stretched hardtail is over my head with a shaftie. But I like your use of what is available to you. I'd have to do the same for any project like this for the V45. Mabey I'll go bobber / slammed / drag. Thanks for the link.

Those are the best ones. You get um cheap and it doesnt matter if you dont like the path they lead you down cause you can always it off and start again.

got a little work done today. mounted the head light
cut the original mounts so they'll fit under the clip-ons. they already had some holes that would work perfectly since I wanted the light as tight to the bike as possible

gotta fire the bike up soon and make sure it still runs good before I go any further, also in the process of chopping up the harness

I can't stop sitting on the bike, I love it... ordered a clutch lever today.

any thoughts on the smallest/cheap batteries to run to save weight and space?

I'm watching this build for sure. I like it even more than your hardtail one, and since I'm about to start on my own 450L, and doing any mods to a bike for the first time, this is a great way to learn, thanks for the photo worklog!!

I did a search at the local battery places. The battery in my gs bobber is about 3" x 5" dry cell. It has the same amps as a wet cell . I don't wanna go thru the headache of pulling the cover or i could tell you which one i used. all mine runs are the headlight, taillight and electric starter. I also have kick start, but don't use it unless i'm showing off

did some cutting, surprised at how much weight came off. still not finished but its a start, going to smooth it down tomorrow. only rough cuts today

been doing minor stuff to this lately, cleaned up the wiring harness. I haven't really had time for this one since my harley is almost finished though, probably finish it in the end of summer. just thought I'd give an update

hey man nice idea on cutting the triple tree. I was debating if i should do the same but a little afraid on the go ahead.

how it sits now, I have to test the electrical, rebuild the front brake, throttle and clutch cable, chain, lights, finish shaving the trees, seal the tank, jet the carbs.
