    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

When I bought my Venture from Steve, I sold my 20 year old son my beautiful '82 GS850L that I had ridden for years. It is his 2nd street bike.
Last night, a cage ran him off the road, and didn't stop. He came out of it with a few scratches and a bruised kidney...other that that, he is ok. He really didn't need this right now, as he is going through a bad divorce, this was his only means of transportation...he loves to ride, and the bike was his only release to just get away from it all.

I may post a list of parts we'll be looking to buy soon. I have a parts bike that we can get some of it from. Bad thing is, I just sold the tach and cluster to someone on here who needed it also, and now these are trashed. Who knows, maybe I jinxed him by selling the parts.

Glad to hears he is ok. I have a cluster and tach minus the speedo. Came off a 83 GS1100g. Yours if you want. Just send me an address.

Man that bites

I just bought a GS850 parts bike (it is older 1979).. let me know if there is anything I can donate.
 
We need handlebars. Tank and sidecovers need replacing, but bars are essential right now. They're bent pretty bad.

The donations are nice...and greatly appreciated. He did borrow the money to get it fixed, though, so if any of these parts are for sale, please let me know.
 
Similar but fuel gauge is in the tach. Gear indicator across top. Some bulbs burnt out. I send them in the next day or two if you can use great if not send them back.
 
I don't know if I have sidecovers (or if they would work) but you are welcome to the bars.

I plan to pick the bike up this weekend .. hit me up early next week.

It you need a set of bars I have a couple sets I am more the willing to donate.

i looked, and i don't have any clocks for that, but i may have a crash bar to replace that one. i'll get some dimensions of it this afternoon. you can have it for shipping if it will work.

He has already ordered new mirrors, as well as a pair of handlebars.
Seuadr, could you post a pic of the crash bars? He wants to see what they look like first.

Rear turn signal damaged?Looks like same from a GS1000. PM me if you need one or more.You can have it.
 
Turn signals are fine. It just bent one of the steel mounts. I have a spare set anyway. Headlight is fine also. Don't know about bars yet. He ordered a set of drag bars, and they just came in today. I am trying to tell him that drag bars and "L" models just don't look right, but he has to see for himself...lol

I will know tomorrow if he changes his mind on the bars.
 
Look at the bars in the pics above. If someone can send us the bars the fastest way possible...even overnight, he will be glad to pay for the bars, plus the shipping. We just need them very soon, as it's his only mode of transportation.
