DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ok i would like to get spark plugs wires for my gs850gl b how would i do it and where can i get them ? can i just get the wires mine have got cracks in them

Is it the wires themselves that are cracked, or just the caps? If it's just the caps, nice NGK caps are cheap at Z1 Enterprises. I can't remember which off the top of my head, but I know the correct part numbers have been posted in the tech section. A search should turn them up.

The wires are glued into the coils, and from what I gather,it's not a sure thing that you can get them out. This has been discussed a few times also, so search for that too.

you know i wondering if i put wire shrink wrap on them if that would to something ? cut the ends to get a fresh wire for the plugs and then wrap them

I kinda like the shrink wrap idea. :D

Have not heard of it being done, but there's no reason it shouldn't work.

The plugs you need are available at just about any auto parts store. I usually get mine at Auto Zone because they are only about half a mile from my house. If they are out, I have to go about 3 miles to Pep Boys. The plugs you are looking for are NGK B8ES. Accept no substitutes. They are usually less than $3 each.

I have never liked the idea of the Suzuki intergral coil and plug wire set up, are there any coils with the loose plug wires that can be unscrewed and replaced, ala Kawasaki, that are a compatible bolt on mod?
I also like the shrink sleeve idea, would make a very neat job, I suspect that one would have to get the thickest shrink sleeve you can, as I am not sure how well it would insulate HT voltage, as it was never designed for that, maybe two layers?

Actually, you are just weatherproofing the existing insulation, so it should be enough to have one layer on there. :-k

I have Accel coils on two of my bikes, they have removeable leads.
The Dyna coils that are also highly favored have replaceable leads, too.

i dont know about 2 layers my self. But i will give it a shot cant hurt im going to try this week end and will post pics as soon as i get the wraped

When I was trying to diagnose a no fire problem, I swapped KZ550 coils onto my GS. They were a direct bolt, and had removable wires. They also ran the bike, but just in the garage. Don't know how well they would hold up in actual use, but I expect they would be fine.

Another idea I have had is the tool handle dip you can buy. I don't know if it will insulate though.
