All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Spray painting the engine with Flex Seal

  • Thread starter Thread starter bille

Agreed Bille. You are one of those rare breeds that can take a (undeserved) beating and still be strong enough to stand up and be show courage.

you spelled "your " wrong Stupid

And you're no better, as you left out the comma between "wrong" and "Stupid".

It does not pay to point out someone's mistakes when you are making some of your own. :-\\\

I was thinking of painting my engine on my gs1100 black. Flex Seal is black and it would probably seal on leaks too! Has only tried this? Is this a dumb idea?
That's not bad but I think airbrush is better for it and need to use good airbrush and compressor.

Last year I am painted my favorite motorbike using an airbrush compressor kit. I really enjoy airbrush that time.

In the event that this wasn't a spoof posting as a joke.....

DITTO DITTO DITTO....bad idea for all those reasons.... and another reason it wont work is that a coating that repels water (holds water out) wont necessarily hold water in from the bonded side. Those are separate qualities that have to do with adhesion and the ability to hold back head pressure.

haha, I didn't read all of the replies, but I quickly realized I asked a stupid question and you guys were going to make me pay for it. Question withdrawn, please forgive me.

I don't know, maybe you could have looked around a bit more before asking but some of the most interesting stuff on this forum is when I see/hear someone using a technique/material that would never had occurred to me.

My father was a wood floor guy so I never had much experience with metal fabrication and how to seal porous metal. When I saw your question I was actually interested to see the answers.

Hope to see many more questions from you on the forum.
