DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

SS Exhaust

I just received this V&H SS exhaust (thanks, rifrafracing):

image.jpg(It's to the lower right of my V&H "Street Megaphone")

1. Are those six indents designed to be optionally drilled out?

2. Were the six holes in my Megaphone originally filled in?

3. Is there any fiberglass in the SS? (I was told there is in the Megaphone).

The SS looks so much more restrictive that I'm concerned re-jetting may be needed.

#1 Probably no
# 2 No
#3 yes, it can be repacked
Don't know if it any more restrictive.

I just tried the SS muffler. A bit quieter than my old Megaphone, but still enough of a bark. I won't drill any holes in it.

Talk about bark, I ran her for a few seconds with the open headers. Memories of when I used to terrorize the population with my Z1. :devilish:

That SS can is very nice looking Rob.
I have a brand new V+H 4-1 megaphone exhaust that was bought about 15 years ago. Its the plain jane chrome muffler. Will be looking for one like yours to give it a little visual upgrade.

There was a NOS one offered here a while back; I didn't think it would fit my bike (still not sure about the headers). Wish I'd have jumped on it:

Yes, that is super nice. If you are good to the can on setup like this you can always sandblast and repaint the header to keep it looking mint down the road as it ages.

I believe they make/or used to make a competition baffle for that pipe.
they were bigger inside diameter and definitly louder!

My Yoshimura race bend has a similarly constructed baffle as the V&H SS can, with the exception of the indentations, but it was not packed. I drilled six holes in the outer plate and four holes in the upstream plate to let it breathe a little more. I really liked the change in tone and it required some additional tuning to get the jetting dialed in. Bottom line...it ran great and sounded awesome.
