A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I like the aluminum bolts... in either red or blue. But at about $2 each. I'm gonna need like 30 of them!

Thanks for links. I might actually get some of these some day.

I should not have looked at this thread. Just like I shouldn't have had that 3rd shot at the strip club Sat night. And I always wonder where my money goes...

Those alum socket heads would be good for my valve cover:cool:
They come in pretty colors too:)
The titanium is nice too:)
Thx for the link.

With the aluminum bolts, do you guys think that torque would be an issue? I'd be afraid of shearing one off, or snapping one.

No, aluminum bolts won't take as much torque as steel, but they'll do fine for low-stress stuff like case covers.

They come with instructions and usually a little packet of anti-seize goop.

The titanium bolts will pretty much handle the same stresses as steel, but the anti-seize goop is critical.

Here's another good source of beautiful stainless and Ti jewelry for bikes:

For stainless A2 button head M5x16mm bolt depot has metricmcc beat.. $9.24 for 100 pack or 18 cents each..

Metricmcc wants $26.03 pr 100..

I just thought the Ti and Aluminum hardware was kinda cool.. Still expensive tho :)

Still thaks for the link.. MetricMCC stocks some sizes and thread pitches I can't get from bolt depot or my local Tacoma Screw..

Thanks for the info, I use them for convienence, prices are generally good enough for me, It's were I got the studs for my cylinder heads, once I had the bolts out there was no way they were going back in. I'm in New York, I get my stuff the next day.

Best regards,

Toddk

p.s. The have some witworth and BS stuff for you British guys.

5mmx16 rightous price, shipping?

5mmx16 rightous price, shipping?

Hi,

I used the 16mm length on both sides of the carbs ,diaphragm and bowl, if you have the old models, with the connectors between carbs that sit on the diaphragm cover, you almost have to have some 16mms for the connecter locations, esp if you want to use a lock washer.
If you can get decently priced shipping on the hundred package, that is a good buy.

FORGET about bolts depot, they want more to ship than a package of one hundred costs. They dont offer to ship pp or primail, which would half the cost if not more.
