As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Anyone know a good source for SS brake caliper bolts for my 1980 GS1100LT? Found lots of threads on SS bolts in general. Looking for the axel caliper and mounting bolts.

someone else might be a better authority here, but my understanding is this is not a good spot for stainless due to strength issues...

Many of the common stainless bolts you find at hardware stores and such are softer (weaker) than those used on your braking system. Suzuki bolt grades (4/7/9) show on most bolts but not all. The info below has been posted previously but bears repeating. Be sure to use a bolt that's as strong or stronger than what you are replacing...

Metric 10.9 = Suzuki "9" = SAE grade 8
Metric 8.8 = Suzuki "7" - SAE grade 5
Metric 4.6 = Suzuki "4" = SAE grade 1 (no marks on head)

Is titanium an option for you? That’s what I use on my race bike’s front caliper and pinch bolts. Pre drilled too.

I have used stainless steel bolts for mounting discs and calipers and many other parts for years now, had them on my GS1000 for nearly 20 years, never had an issue.

I prefer stainless or chrome....lots of SS bolts available for other bikes but no luck finding any for my L...the caliper axel bolt might be the toughest to locate

I gave up on finding the bolts and polished my original ones and with scotchbrite pads and buffing wheels on bench grinder I have them looking pretty good
