DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hmm...Something isn't quite right and I can't figure out why. Gustovh when I see your post I only see the blue link but not the image until I click on it. But when I look at the link itself it all looks correct.
This was brought up on another thread about posting pics.

Something to do with spaces in the file name causing the software doohickey to post a 'link only' thinga-me-whats-it???????

Let's give Photobucket a try

Let's give Photobucket a try

By Jobe I think he's got it.

You Go Boy!!

Thanks a ton Roland. By the way, at first glance that telescope looks like a handlebar mounted bazooka. Something like that could come in very handy on my daily Chicago commute.

Looks sweet man, I am about 2 weeks away from finishing mine as well.

Bike looks great! :)

FIY, if you hit those fork legs with some clear it will keep corrosion at bay (that's the way the come from the factory).

caddy lights

caddy lights

Here's where I got the lights from. They fit perfectly under the cowl. I fabricated a bracket for them. I just have to get it installed. I'll post a pic as soon as I do. I really want to make a new cowl when I get the time, but this will work until then.

This place has a ton of cool stuff. I'm also thinking of doing either a catseye or a Lucas headlight trim with the bullet insert. I love that 50's stuff. Is a leapord skin seat cover too much? Just kidding.

i am definitely gonna get those lake pipes.I have been looking for some of those.Cool site!

Those lake pipes are pretty slick. I have been trying to decide between those or a set of bellflower tips for my '58 chevy.

I am still torn between a set of '59 caddy tail lights and a cats eye for the brake light on my 850. If I do the '59 caddy lights, I am thinking about mounting them outboard on either side of the rear fender.

leapord skin? no no, you mean zebra!

thanks for the link, these are much cheaper than what i'd seen on the chopper sites.

I considered that as well. You could probably have them double a turn signals. I really just couldn't wrap my head around a way to mount them That I liked. If you come up with something make sure you post it.

I have considered that; but if I do go that way, I would like to have separate turn signals. I have been considering making some sort of bracket to hold the turn signal and the tail light on both sides. I have run a few designs through Solid Edge to see how they looked, but have not come up with anything I liked yet.

My bike is still relatively stock, but I will get some pictures up soon. I started a head gasket replacement on it three weeks ago, and now I have all sorts of parts at the powder coater. One thing leads to another; since the weather was kind of crappy, I just decided to take care of a few more things while I had it apart.

It lives!!!

It lives!!!

Well, after quite a bit of checking and rechecking. I got the bike started. You really have to pay close attention when you reinstall all of the igniotion system components after having them off for two years. The bike was cranking and it it wouldn't hit. It popped through the number one carb a couple of times. I checked the plug wires and sure enough, they were reversed. I put them on correctly and holy crap. She roared to life. I do mean roared. The carbs are way off and I just put them on to see what would happen. The float bowls a ll leaked and the idle was way too high. I ran it jus tlong enought o use the gas up in the floats. What a rush. After the gas ran out. I pulled the carbs and now its time to fine tune things a little bit. At this point, I still need to get a chain and a front sprocket. I also need to go through the brakes and get all of that sorted out, so no riding yet. It's very encouraging though. The bike sosunds mean. Not anything like my old BMW boxer.
