    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This site shows the original part number, and takes you through each part number that replaced the old one. Very nice. Very high prices if you buy something.

Look under parts microfiche. They seem to have the best prices. I usually use bikebandit. Click the online parts.
 
Bike bandit has its own part numbers. Good site, just not so good for finding part numbers.
 
Bikebandit is very convenient, and they ship quickly and cheaply, but their parts prices are not that great and they use their own parts numbering system to discourage comparisons.

If I need bits and pieces and accessories for a few different brands of bikes, they're the bee's knees -- I've ordered stuff for two Suzukis, a Kawasaki, and a Honda, plus a few tools and some grips all on the same order.

Ron Ayers has slightly better pricing, but you have to supply your own part numbers -- they don't have fiches for most older bikes.

Flat Out has the best parts prices I've seen yet (just 20% over dealer cost), although some GS-ers report that they charge a few dollars more for shipping than expected. I recently used them for a large order and saved quite a bit of money, plus I was able to skip the shipping because I picked up my parts in person -- they're located about 15 minutes from my office.

Alpha-Sports has a unique and very useful fiche system, but their prices make my eyeballs bleed. I'd love to order from them and help support them, but I can't bring myself to pay full retail.
 
One other is www.mrcycles.com. Good customer service, good fiche, usually 8 day turn around to your door, prices about 10% higher than flatout but while flatout is cheap (if you order through net) it is very slow. If you call flatout to order prices are 15% higher.
