A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Dear All

I'm keeping my 83 GS1100G stock except I would like to fit clip-ons and a 'bullet' (kinda like a SS Ducati/Gus Khun) style fairing.

To say that I'm mechanically inept is somewhat of an understatement, however, I can't seem to keep away from these bikes! To this end, I'm looking for somewhere (other than Deus) that I can get this fitted and would be most appreciative if anyone knows, er, anyone. I believe the job to be fiddly and requires nous and finesse.......and $$.

Preference is Sydney but up until 28th Feb could also get the job done in Melbourne (Australia).

Your help is very much appreciated.

Thanks, Stephen

PS I don't have anything against Deus, just looking for other options (if they in fact exist??)

Welcome to the nuthouse Stephen!

There's the Modern Motorcycle Company in Melbourne, not sure if they've got what you want or not.

Alternatively, I have this fairing lying around here from my 450... fits over a round 7" headlight but would need some tidying up and a lick of paint:

There's a couple of brackets you just bolt to the handlebars.

Not sure what it's worth but it's not worth much to me...

I think you're probably looking for the other type that bolts to the frame rather than the handlebars but I'll throw it out there just in case...

I'm interested

I'm interested

Hi Pete,
if upnup does not want the fairing I would be interested in purchasing it off you. I have recently purchased a 1982 GS1100G, in a few months I plan to strip it down for a rebuild and was thinking about fitting that style fairing.

No worries mate, I just want the thing gone really... trying to tidy up the garage and get rid of old crap and all the stock bits off my 450 plus this fairing are sitting around taking up valuable space.

Upnup, you keen or passing?

Thanks so much, Pete.

Ok, have been away and while away ordered a Gus Khun (Norvil) type fairing so will pass on your fairing, Mate, but thanks so much for thinking of me - I think Highside will be a happy chappy with it though!

I contacted the Modern Motorcycle Company and although not able to help, they passed on some good gen on who to contact.

Again, thanks for the ideas.

No worries mate, glad you found what you wanted instead :)

Bugger..
Too slow.

Sorry Leigh! It was going in the For Sale section in the next week or three with all the other stock bits from the 450... :o

LoL put me next in line if all fall through.

Haha sure... postage could be interesting though ;)

No sweat, Pete.
I didn't even know you had it.

Thommo has moulds for an SS/Imola fairing that we might play around with come time.

Cool, yeah, hadn't got as far as advertising it just yet... was waiting for the garage sorting to be finished.

The SS/Imola fairing sounds like it could be a winner though ;)
