DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ok how much air should they suck on the gauge with pods and i do have a aftermarket exhaust thanks ya i know i dont know how to spell lol

Some people say that pods suck a lot. :). I think what matters is that the numbers are as close to being equal as possible. There are some pretty good threads that have already been started on this subject.

ok trying to synce these stupid ass carbs. i got 1 and 2 good but when i adjust for the fourth number 3 carb goes thro the roof any ideas

First, it helps to know what bike we are talking about, because the two different carbs that are used on the GS-series bikes take different procedures.

.

sync 2 to 3 first and then the others afterwards (it doesn't matter which order).

well #3 carb is 10 number higher on the mercury gauges. have the one that u set up all 4 carbs at the same time. how do i get this one to come down

You don't... #3 is the base line carburetor. you just make the other three match it's reading.
if you adjust each throttle plate so that it closes even more than it already is, the vacuum will increase.

as Ed said, balance #2 to the #3 carb, then take your pick of #1 or #4 and lastly the one that's left.

ya but i its reading 23 (meter is in in) and its idleing at 1500rpms thats where it should be at 3000 rpms lol i really hate carbs lmfao

The best gauges for synchronizing carbs have NO NUMBERS.

The numbers don't mean a thing when synchronizing the carbs, you are just trying to get them all the same.

The procedure in the Suzuki manual specifies that you have the engine fully warmed up and running at 1500-2000 rpm. Match the reading of #2 to #3, then set #1 to read just a bit more vacuum, then, finally, set #4 to match #1. While you are doing this, remember that cylinders are numbered from left to right (as you sit on the bike), meaning that #1 is under your clutch hand and #4 is under your throttle hand.

Numbers don't matter. In fact the level will change any time you make an adjustment. The important part is to have the levels match (actually the outer ones are a little higher) when you are done.
