    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

That darn buffing wheel ...

Steve

GS Whisperer
In the process of removing and replacing a broken exhaust bolt on Mrs. Steve's bike, I had to remove the cam chain tensioner.

Somehow, on the way from the parts tray, back to the bike, I must have tripped (or was that "tripped out"?) and used the buffing wheel to break my fall.

Here are the results.

:D

Other engine parts happened to get in the line of fire while the paint can was being emptied, I'll get some pictures of them later. :o

You need to be more careful or you'll turn in to an old buffer.

Maybe the play on words doesn't translate from English English to US English....

That's pretty shiny for a hidden part that will never see the light of day.
I should have sent you those covers to do.

My bike would quit running if the shiny parts were that shiny, let alone the ones that are hidden and shiny doesn't matter...:dancing:

Not sure about your definition of "buffer", but I SURELY don't want to be an old "duffer".

Thought you didnt like chrome??
Where did you get that impression?

Besides, it's not chrome, it's polished aluminum (or some alloy thereof).

This is the bike it's going on, so it will fit right in. :p

It may never see the light of day, but the LEDs might happen to reflect in that direction. :-k

Sorry about your luck.

Sure sign of chronic cabin fever, Steve you need to get your azz on a GS or a Wing or whatever and get out, before it is to late. ;)

My engine cases are super oxidized and look like ****. They need to get polished.

Gotta get this one done so Mrs. Steve can get out on her bike.

Then I will be able to spend some time on my bikes. :D

The body parts for the Wing are painted, just waiting for them to get shipped back.

Junior is waiting for for seal replacement, otherwise quite ready to go. :dancing:

I thought about doing that to my tensioner before putting it back on. But, once again Mr. lazy reared his ugly head. Oh well, no lights on my bike to reflect back in there anyway.....yet.
